Listservs are a terrific way to connect with colleagues throughout the country/world. Did a quick search for "listserv and English," and stumbled upon Northern New England Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages  http://www.nnetesol.org/resources/listservs/ This would be a great listserv for ESL/ELL teachers.

Edcamps are held throughout the year and throughout the world. They are "unconference" style, a unique format that is growing in popularity. You never know what you'll discover at an edcamp.
